Why I Chose Cloth Diapers

I was admittedly reluctant to try cloth diapers, but have found them to be the best choice for my baby and me.
I found a wealth of useful information (particularly the unbiased parental reviews posted) and reasonably priced products online at cottonbabies.com, and opted for the basic unbleached cotton cloth inserts ($1.75 ea.), and simple white Prowraps covers (about $8 ea.) with Velcro tabs and shape similar to a disposable diaper.
They are easy to change, healthier and softer on her little tush, cost effective, require very little care (double wash cycle every 2-3 days), and environmentally friendly.
There are a host of more colorful and convenient options too (e.g. all-in-ones), but they are a bit more expensive - albeit still much less so than disposables.
I'm so glad I ignored the doubt filled responses I got from some when I said I wanted to give it a try. I keep a few disposables on hand just in case, but have only needed them twice (2+ weeks thus far). I opted to use the hospital provided diapers when staying there so I could focus on my new little bundle, and saved the cloth diaper lessons for home.
