Be Patient
by: Heather ;-)

Danielle,

If you're really worried, I would perhaps seek a second medical opinion. That said, I would just continue to offer her a bottle every few hours.

Some babies just take longer to grow - the important thing is that she IS growing. She's not stuck, and she's not losing. That's great news.

Take a deep breath and be patient. Be encouraged that she is above her birth weight and is moving in the right direction. That's a great sign.

And just in case...don't feel guilty about not breastfeeding. You gave it a good go, you should be proud. Breastfeeding isn't as simple as sticking a baby on the breast. I did great breastfeeding my oldest, but fell flat on my 2nd, lasting only a few months. My third was better, but all my babies were weaned around 10 months. Each baby is different, each situation is different. Breastfeeding is not what makes you a good mom.

You're doing what makes you a good mom. Feeding, holding, cuddling, changing, singing...watching her growth, and asking questions when you're not sure. Well done.

Ayurvedic Herbal Massage Oil
by: Heather ;-)

Danielle,

A friend recently shared that she used an Ayruvedic Herbal Massage Oil for her low-birth weight baby, and she said that it was helpful.

For what it's worth, you can see this holistic massage oil here.

Patience
by: Danielle

Thanks for the advice everyone. Patience was the key. I guess we were just stuck for a moment. She is finally gaining weight. We are over 10 lbs now.

Your website is very helpful and I discovered a couple of great online stores. 'Cause I'm not a big reader, it is very nice that I can find the most important information through your website.

Thanks Heather! Your Milestone eBook is SO detailed and so correct. My son is doing all or most of the things and many are not mentioned in the usual books/sites. Great job and keep it up!

My baby refused all bottles until you showed me the MAM bottle. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I wouldn't have known about them if not for your website.
