Stiff Spine?

I have noticed my grandbaby feels stiff all the time, just her back. She doesn't seem in pain just straight and stiff. I know she has a lot of gas it seems, She looks healthy but just doesn't feel relaxed ever, always stiff just her back only.

Any ideas? I been reading and googling. I really hate to say anything to the mother of the baby I don't want to scare her, but feel its something that should be brought up to the Dr.

Maybe I am paranoid being a new grandbaby. but even my husband noticed it and said to the 3 month to relax, just just like her back is a board.

Time for a Doctor Visit

Dear concerned grandmother,

Due to your description, I would encourage you to approach the mother to either make an appointment to ask the doctor, or to mention it to her doctor when she brings the baby in for the 3 month checkup.

Unfortunately, this is something that will not be able to be resolved without a physical examination.

I understand how you don't want to cause her mother to worry, but if there is a small adjustment that can be made right now (but may be harder later on) the minor worry now may be worth it in the long run.

Share your concerns with your daughter (daughter in law) in a practical, fact-based way, stating what you and your husband have seen and nonchalantly mention that a doctor should physically check her to make sure it's nothing.

Your calmness, but intentional conversation, will reassure her not to freak out, but be responsible and pursue the appointment.

Hope this is helpful, a physical examination is your best step in this situation.
