Playtex VentAire Advanced can leak...

by Jennifer Knowles
(Monmouth, Maine, USA)

Although I like the design of the angled top, and the baby seems to get less air, I am constantly struggling with leaky bottles. They tend to leak on the bottom part, so when you set the bottle down and pick it up a few minutes later it is sitting in a puddle of milk. This made it very frustrating. Most of the time you can tell if it will leak just after warming it up, but this is not always the situation.

Leaky bottles

I thought these bottles were great at first, but with time, they leak. It is very frustrating! We are now preparing for our second child & I will absolutely NOT be using these bottles again.

I also really like this type of bottle for my 2 month old. But after using them for about a month, they started leaking on me. But not all the time, just sometimes. I always dry them, and install them right. I tried interchanging them to see if that helped, and it doesn't. I am guessing this might be a design flaw since it's happening to so many people. It is frustrating, but my baby and I likes this bottle best. You win some...you lose some I guess.

So I really love the bottles, but am frustrated with the leaking. We wash our bottles by hand and have tried realigning the bottom plastic pieces, washing, trading them around and we always have one that starts to leak during a feeding or after a feeding. It's so frustrating. I wouldn't recommend these bottles just for that fact. I hate that because my baby loves them. I also hate the idea of using drops ins and throwing away all that plastic. Hopefully playtex will drop the advanced and go back to Ventair.....

don't buy these!

i have had this problem too! i thought i was crazy and didn't know how to put the bottle together right! but they all leak! i don't know why, but sometimes when you try to tighten the bottom part, it just leaks more! the first time i discovered this was at 4 in the am and i had breastmilk all over my nightstand! i was soooo mad! (i worked hard to get that breastmilk!) i hand wash all bottles and parts (don't have a dishwasher) so i know the seal has not warped. and yea, they don't have wmail for you to contact them... what's up with that? i don't think they want to hear our compaints!
i used the plain ventaire before with my first daughter and they were great! why'd they have to go and change them??? the change is definitely for the worse and not the better!

so many problems
by: lindsey boulanger

my husband and i have had so many problems also, they are not worth the money but our daughter won't take any other bottle right now. We have had them for 8 months and probably loose a half a can of formula every month from the leaks. Do not buy them.

I have these bottles and most of the time if I set them down there is puddle on my coffee table...and I know I put them together right. They are always leaking and formula is not cheap these days.

The only way you can get a hold of the company to make a complaint about these bottles is to call and they don't have an email address to contact them. I think they need to make their bottles better so they don't leak or just take these bottles off the shelves.

I have been using them for the past seven months and I have nothing but problems with these bottles.
