Cesarean Lessons I Learned

I have now had two cesareans and the first one was the worst. I think because I was not prepared for it. I must say, that after 20 hours in the hospital with contractions and basically no dilation, I was very happy when the doctor said I was going in for a cesarean.
Finally it would all be over. The preparation was a breeze; the delivery of my boys went really well. Now it was time to face the healing.
There definitely was a lot of pain but nothing that some good ole meds wouldn't fix. I think the worst of it was moving.
Now try not to move...it's impossible right? So, the best thing to do, as soon as you can, is to get up and get moving. The more you move around, the better you will feel when you go home.
Another good thing to keep in mind is to keep all the comedians far away from you. Laughing is quite painful. Well, most every thing you do is painful, but laughing was at the top of my list.
Like any other injury or surgery, it takes time to heal, but it does heal, and the pain lessens every day. My boys are now 16 and 12.
Finally, another very important thing to remember is that no two women are alike. Good luck and may God bless you and your new blessing.
