Are You My Mother?

Another staple favorite in my family, Are You My Mother is simple and repetitive for little ones to start engaging with. I always ask them,
"Is the dog his mother?" They laugh, then say "Nooooo". It's great bonding time. It's been a favorite for families for generations.
The drawings are minimal, but still interesting. Imitating the animal sounds also adds extra fun to the story. Naturally, the baby bird finds his
mother at the end.
If I Have to Nit-Pick...
Very sensitive children may not like this book. Although my girls love this book, I can remember feeling some stress when I was little about
the story line ("Will he find his mother?"), and the "Snort" (a steam shovel) was a little frightening to me. Consider these factors when considering whether
this is a good book for your family.
