Top Baby Books:
Mr. Brown Can Moo...Can You?

Author:

    Dr. Seuss

Heather's Review:

This book is incredibly fun to read aloud to your baby. The fun, silly sounds and good rhythm carry you quickly through the whole book. And of course, the typically funny pictures of Dr. Seuss never fail to amuse. Even if you don't know exactly how to sound like a hippopotamus chewing gum (grum! grum! grum!) your baby will give you giggles for trying.

Best of all, as soon as your infant figures out how to make a noise with her mouth, she'll be dying to try out these noises too. Cameron and I have had to break out the video camera a few time to capture our little one acting like a train or making the kissing noise. What wonderful memories you'll make with this book!

If You Have to Nit-Pick...

Again, in the case of Mr. Brown Can Moo I would go with the original version, not the board book. (Although you could always purchase the board book version for use in quiet reading times!)

The original version is a little longer, so you may have to skip some of the repetitive pages for your baby's attention span, but it is well worth it. As long as your baby is on your lap, he can't rip pages, right? So buy the board book for non-close-watching, and choose this one for those special reading times together.
