Pictures of a C-Section

The only way to really grasp the medical miracle of a cesarean is to see pictures of a c-section actually occurring.

A page describing the cesarean procedure would fill a page, but be boring and unhelpful to the average non-medical-student mom. Too many long complicated anatomy words to follow.

These cesarean photos were taken by Avi Reem of the birth of his daughter, Shira, on March 30, 2006.

Finally, here's a photo of Shira "all grown up" at 7 months.

These cesarean photos show the quick progression of a cesarean section. The actual delivery takes less than 15 minutes, but it takes another 45 to fix all the damage has been done.

Although it looks easy, it is no recovery picnic. Unless there is a medical reason to undergo this major surgery, I strongly encourage you to pursue a vaginal birth.
