The 2010 Infant Costume Photo Gallery From the Most Affordable to the Most Adorable
A friend (non-parent) asked me the other day why I get an infant costume for my baby's first Halloween. Isn't that a waste of money? she asked.
Yes, I suppose that it seems a waste...but I'm not buying a baby costume. I'm buying memories.
Every time I look (really look) at my older children, I feel the familiar bittersweet pang of time. Wasn't I just wiping those boogers, changing that diaper, bouncing that bottom?
Since when did Lauren start reading on her own? Wasn't that my job?
Since when did Elena dance around in underwear? Weren't we just in diapers? (not that I'm complaining...)
And then I look at my little Bella. Smiling, drooling enough to swim in, daring to start crawling. And I realize that every second of this year has to be wrung out like a wet
washcloth.
I will choose an infant costume, and the whole family will gather for photos and trick or treating, and someday when Bella's older, we'll sit around and look through the album together on
Family Night.
Look how cute you were! ...and this is where you tried to eat your booties ...where Lauren slipped you a sliver of chocolate
...where you threw up on Daddy's coat.
I want that moment for her. I want her to know that we included her in our little traditions, even when she was clueless. That she's ALWAYS been a part of our family. An active, interactive
part that we can't live without.
And I guess that's what I want for you too. ...for your grown-up baby to sit on your couch and hear those memories and look at those photos. You'll thank me. Promise.
So in this gallery I've split up the popular categories up for you. Each provides you with photos, prices and descriptions. I don't sell the costumes on my site. I'm just a gallery, showing
you where you can get which costumes and for what price.
If all that overwhelms you, feel free to look through my 2010 Best Baby Costume Picks. That's where I reveal the most affordable costumes (
under $14), the most original designs and the newest styles out this August.
The days drag, but the years fly...
