Your Infant Resource to Help Savor (and Survive!) the First Year
You have successfully passed the test of pregnancy and delivered a beautiful prize: your infant.
Exhausted, yet pleased, you
find yourself staring eye-to-eye with a new creation. A new person has just entered your life.
- Do you suddenly feel utterly helpless to care for the utterly helpless?
- Are you lost in a sea of 800-page books that offer "helpful how-to" advice?
- Wondering if you will ever have a "normal life" again
- Has it been a while since your last baby and you are feeling a little rusty?
A few years ago, as my friends started to have babies, I was asked by a few friends to help them register for
their baby showers.
Each expressed feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by too many choices and not enough
information. (One had previously tried to register and ended up leaving in tears!)
As I provided that moral support to my friends braving the newborn-consumer market, I was struck
by their common need for reassurance and encouragement.
Here's the secret that was shared with me that I am passing on to you:
Motherhood is a skill that you learn...one step at a time.
Don't think this site is just for "newbies"! It was shortly after my second infant that I started this site. I was shocked
to realize that a lot of what I had learned 3 years prior with my first baby had faded away.
I needed a "refresher course". This site was my re-education. I committed to re-learn everything I needed to know
for the first 18 months of Elena's life, and then share it with others. (And in doing so, provide a forum for other mother's to
share what they've learned with me!)
So come on in! Search through the articles...share your stories...join our little sisterhood of mothers.
(Make sure you click on the triangle on the next page to start the slideshow!)
P.S. I'd love to hear from you!

Working Your Way Through The Infant Resource
Working your way deeper into The Essential Infant Resource is easy.
The entire site is designed like a library.
The links below and the buttons on the left-hand column are the library books.
After you click on a "library book," the next page will contain various articles related to that book's subject.
Those internal articles are the chapters inside each book.
I'm working on this site every week, adding pages on a regular basis. Don't miss all the new material! Sign up for the baby blog or subscribe to my monthly newsletter (The Merry Mother).
